Outbound flight/Kilimanjaro (JRO)/Moshi

Day 2 :

Moshi/Materuni/Moshi

Warm-up trek to the mighty Materuni waterfalls, through Chagga villages and coffee plantations.

Day 3 :

Moshi/Trekking: Marangu Gate (1,860 m)/Mandara Hut (2,700 m)

Start of the trek in the dense rainforest, where you will encounter guenons and colobuses.

Day 4 :

Trekking: Mandara Hut (2,700 m)/Horombu Hut (3,700 m)

Across the moorland among giant heather plants, lobelias and seneci.

Day 5 :

Trekking: Horombo Hut (3,700 m)/Mawenzi Hut (4,315 m)/Horombu Hut (3,700 m)

Day dedicated to acclimatization, with optional trekking to the base of Mawenzi, the second highest peak in KIlimanjaro.

Day 6 :

Trekking: Horombo Hut (3,700m)/Kibo Hut (4,700m)

Along the alpine desert to the last hut before the snowy peak.

Day 7 :

Trekking: Kibo Hut (4,700 m)/Uhuru Peak (5,895 m)/Horombo Hut (3,700 m)

Night climb to Gilmans Point at dawn, and then up to Uhuru Peak, the highest point on the African continent.

Day 8 :

Trekking: Horombo Hut (3,700m)/Marangu Gate (1,860m)/Moshi

Descent along the slopes of the mountain.

Day 9 :

Moshi/Chemka/Kilimanjaro (JRO)

Relax at the natural hot pools of Kikuletwa, for a rejuvenating bath.
