All the best of Djibouti, in a voyage of discovery that will take us to this small and often forgotten country in the Horn of Africa which, like no other, brings to mind the “moon on earth”. A territory characterised by an extraordinary geological vivacity, capable of offering exciting images of a bizarre, harsh and wonderful nature.
A “natural laboratory” inhabited by nomadic peoples who, over time, have been the only ones able to adapt to an environment that is as fascinating as it is inhospitable, with geological sites that are unique in the world and some of the most spectacular landscapes on the entire African continent. An impressive variety of environments, ranging from the Dante-esque scenery of Lake Abbé, to the extraordinary colour range of the salty Lake Assal, in a desert area dotted with dormant volcanoes, limestone pinnacles, lava sediments, twisted rock formations and geothermal vapours from underground. There are also verdant areas, patches of forest and an enchanting coastline with white beaches and islands surrounded by a rich and intact coral reef.

At -155 m above sea level, discover the turquoise Lake Assal and the Afar salt flats.

Ghoubbet/Forest du Day
The Dante-like landscapes of Ghoubbet, an incredible volcanic site.
Day 6:
Forest du Day/Bankoualé (Trekking)
A hike to admire the verdant Goda Mountains at their best.
Day 7:
Bankoualé/Ardo/Bankoualé
Nature and Afar craft villages around Bankoualé.
Day 8:
Bankoualé/Abourma (Trekking)/Tadjoura
The Abourma rock engravings, a prehistoric site of extreme importance.
Day 9 :
Tadjoura/Obok/Ras Bir/Tadjoura
Colonial remains at Obok, the lighthouse at Ras Bir and the mangroves of Godoria.

Tadjoura/Plage de Sables Blancs/Tadjoura
The “white sand beach” and the incredible seabed of the Red Sea, ideal for snorkelling.

Tadjoura/Djibouti
The Arabian charm of Tadjoura: whitewashed houses, palm trees and numerous mosques.
