Djibouti is a tiny nation in the Horn of Africa, animated by a mix of different ethnic groups and extraordinarily rich in natural and environmental beauty. Its peculiarity is also determined by its position: in fact it is located in the point of contact between three different continental plates in constant movement (at least 2 cm per year) and from these telluric movements depend the intense geological and geothermal activities that offer spectacular attractions.

Deep depressions partially covered by dark lava flows, hot springs with crystalline salt and gypsum sediments of many different shades and unique limestone chimneys similar to natural smokestacks, up to 50 metres high. There are also the lunar landscapes of Lake Abbé, with spires and pinnacles of bizarrely shaped limestone deposits, and the chromatic variations of Lake Assal, the lowest point on the African continent, 153 metres below sea level. In the coastal strip, the fascinating Ghoubbet Bay, known as the ‘demon pit’, with its magnificent volcanic cones floating in the crystal-clear waters and magnificent coral reefs embellishing the seabed.
