A journey through history in memory of the ancient splendor and painful events of the colonial period, and an opportunity to approach the evocative ceremonies of the most powerful ethnic group in Ghana, the Ashanti, who, while living in step with the times, proudly retain a strong cultural identity.
An oasis of peace and stability, Ghana offers the opportunity to meet hospitable peoples and millennial cultures. The coast overlooking the Gulf of Guinea is strewn with impressive colonial remains, evidence of the tragic past that has heavily marked the fate of the entire continent. Inland, the unmissable stop is Kumasi, the capital of the ancient and powerful Ashanti kingdom, where local dignitaries, on the occasion of anniversaries and celebrations, show off elaborate gold jewelry and sumptuous stoles with a thousand colors. Funerals are amazing, real parties in which you dance and sing all together, celebrating the passage of the deceased to a happier otherworldly condition. The colors accorded to the mourning are red and black, embellished by the gold of the showy jewels.
