The Sahara is a place of the soul, a symbol of eternity and infinity. It fascinates in its purity and immensity, the harbinger of many unforgettable emotions. And what better way to experience and appreciate its magic than by walking through its infinite spaces?
An almost contemplative experience that purifies the mind, distracting it from the anxieties of everyday life. A safe route suitable for everyone, around the ancient caravan town of Chinguetti. During the day, we walk among the magnificent dunes and expanses of white sand of Erg Ouarane, through the incredibly “rich” scenery that so much apparent desolation can give us. In the evening, around the fire, we share the peace and poetry of a sky lit by millions of stars, sipping mint tea and listening to the legends of the desert.
Day 1:
Outbound Flight/Nouakchott (NKC)
Day 2:
Nouakchott/Atar/Chinguetti
Towards the Adrar, along a scenic road between cliffs and hairpin bends.
Day 3:
Trekking: Chinguetti/Lemkaleg
Meeting with the camel drivers and start of the trek on foot on the sands of Erg Ouarane.
Day 4:
Trekking: Lemkhaleg/Neyanna
Discovery of the great dunes of Lemkhaleg and Neyanna.
Day 5:
Trekking: Neyanna/Ould Taleb/Megaya
The valley of Ould Taleb and meeting the Mauri nomads at the water wells of Megaya.
Day 6:
Trekking: Megaya/Leguella
Towards the great dunes of Laguella, for a last night under the starry sky.
Day 7:
Trekking: Leguella/Chinguetti; Chinguetti/Atar
Arrival in Chinguetti, with its stone mosque and desert libraries.
Day 8:
Atar/Terjit/Nouakchott
The lush oasis of Terjit and the colourful fish market of Nouakchott.
Day 9:
Nouakchott (NKC)/Return flight
