Two weeks to travel Senegal from North to South, crossing the Gambia until you reach Guinea Bissau, with its traditional villages, Portuguese colonial heritage and paradisiacal beaches, finally setting sail for the Bijagos Islands Archipelago, the “West African Polynesia”.
The most iconic places in Senegal: the island of Gorèe, the Pink Lake, Saint Louis, but also desert areas, arid savannas dotted with acacias and giant baobabs and long beaches to go off-road between sand and ocean. And then the lush landscapes of Lower Casamance, with its vast river ecosystems, where vegetation becomes more and more luxuriant, up to Guinea Bissau, a land of cashews and sugar cane, Colonial towns with pastel-colored architecture, clay villages ruled by kings and queens, and forest spirits that materialize with suggestive dances and ancestral masks. Finally, the highlight of this trip: the Bijagos archipelago, 88 islands of extraordinary beauty off the coast of Bissau, a natural habitat for dolphins, turtles, saltwater hippos, and dozens of bird species.
